James Buddy Rogers has spent the majority of his life working in and around the entertainment industry. As a professional musician, recording artist and performer, he has worked with agents, promoters, venues, festivals and industry professionals across music, film and television.
That experience gives James a perspective that goes well beyond simply booking an act. He understands what artists need to perform at their best, what buyers and venues need to make an event work, and the importance of clear communication, realistic expectations and professional relationships on both sides.
From The Stage
To The Business
James’s career has taken him from clubs and theatres to major festival stages and recording studios. As James Buddy Rogers, he has built a long-running career as a blues guitarist, vocalist and recording artist, including recognition as a Juno-nominated musician.
He is also the owner of BTone®, a Canadian manufacturer of hand-wound guitar and bass pickups. Building BTone has added another side to his industry experience: product development, manufacturing, branding, marketing, sales and the day-to-day realities of running a business.
That combination of artist and business experience is central to Ryder. James knows the value of a great performance, but he also understands that successful bookings depend on everything around the performance: organization, communication, professionalism and relationships that continue long after the show is over.
Artists Should Have Someone On Their Side Who Understands The Job.
Ryder was built with the perspective of people who have actually done the work — performed the shows, dealt with agents, worked with venues, built businesses and experienced the industry from the inside.
